Mibc Alternatives

InterChem Mining recently conducted a flotation test program at The University of Queensland using the Glencore Technology Jameson Cell technology. This is part of ongoing development of our INTERFLOAT® frother series, with applications including replacement of Methyl Isobutyl Carbinol (MIBC) with alternatives rated as non-dangerous goods.

InterChem has been developing non-DG MIBC-alternatives for over a decade focussing on lead zinc, complex polymetallic differential floats and coal applications. Extensive laboratory and plant work has been undertaken. INTERFLOAT® 200 Series frothers are often selected as viable replacements for MIBC by operations looking to mitigate Dangerous Goods liabilities and or seeking to improve seletctivity.
